The girls did a joint program put on by the Walters Art Museum and the Maryland Historical Society called Rye to Raphael. This program explored the history of the Walters family and Baltimore history of the same time that the family made their fortune distilling whiskey and began collecting art and artifacts from around the world.
It is always amazing to me for kids to get to analyze primary sources for historical analysis. I love the patience and guidance that the docents at the Maryland Historical Society give to the kids as they lead them through questioning and observational skills with the art, documents, maps, and other sources they have in their collection.
They also have a really neat interactive map of Baltimore that shows specific locations at specific times in history. It's a really neat view of the city.
