Dave Roman in Person

Dave Roman came to the CCPL Eldersburg branch to do a talk and sign autographs.  So I put it on the calendar.  I was sure the girls would be excited about this.  Instead, I got the whole "Do we have to go?" "I don't want to go!"  mess and the fussing all the way there.  But guess what?  Once we got there and it sunk in who Dave Roman was (I tried to tell them) and they listened to his talk, they were super glad we went.  Dave Roman is a graphic novelist/artist who does lots of different series, but the one the girls like is Astronaut Academy.  He talked about his experiences and how he got into the comic business, and even created a picture with the audience.  Afterwards, we were able to buy a few of his books and he signed them for each girl.  As a bonus - His wife is Raina Telgemeier (She wrote Smile and Sisters ) and she was there too!  She signed one of Gwyn's books for her!
