What's in our water?

     Lyla's troop did a cool activity.  They each had cups of stuff that were labeled things like farm, residence, power plant, business, etc.  Bridget read a story of water as it ran down the Gunpowder River and eventually into the Chesapeake Bay.  As she read the story and the water passed something that had a cup labeled for it, they girls poured that cup in.  It was a good illustration of the cumulative effect of pollution in our rivers.  It didn't take long before the water looked like something no one would want to drink.  And it helped the girls think of ways along the journey that they can do to reduce the amount of pollution our actions contribute to the health of our water systems.
