Braces, Braces, everyone

Celee got braces.  We are two for three now.  She only got the ones of the top.  She has to go back in a few months to get the braces on the bottom.  

 The girls also got their "school pictures" made.  Why do school pictures always come out weird?  Even when its not done at a traditional school?  Oh, well.  They aren't bad pictures, it just feels like the colors are off a little.  They're still my gorgeous girls!

Extreme Photo Attempt (or What Happens When I Have to Clean the Gutters)

     As always happens when I have to get on the roof for some reason, the girls beg to get up there too.  I remember doing this when I was little too.  So this time I let them join me with the caveat that they had to stay on their bottoms and away from the edge.  (That obviously didn't stick)  At least I did have my phone to catch some cool pictures while we were all up there.  The leaves were just gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for some pictures.  If you frame out the roof, and disregard my plumber's crack.

Pickin Pumpkins

     The church youth group had a Destination Unknown on Sunday.  The kids all got to go pick pumpkins from a local field.  Then we went in carpools to deliver pumpkins to some of the elderly people from the church.  This was a lot of fun from the picking, to the silliness in the car, to the actual visiting with the older people.  The kids made out like bandits because almost every house we went to, someone tried to feed them some type of treat.  It was nice to visit people and see how happy they were to have visitors.  I like the feeling of belonging to a multi-generational church family too.  I'm glad our kids get to do service in such a fun way!

Time Trials

     Gwyn kicked off her swim season with the Piranhas Time Trials.  It's old hat to her now, so she wasn't nervous.  She did shave off some time since last season too.  Go Piranhas!

Jumping Rope

     Lyla's Joyful Jumpers class has been so fun!  They made their own weighted jump ropes.   Then they've been learning all kinds of jump rope games and skills.  They have started learning a routine to perform for people too!

A Fall Photo Attempt

     Every year since we moved to Maryland, I have wanted to go to the Baltimore County Farm Park to take the girls pictures in the Fall.  There is a tree-lined lane next to their actual driveway that is always so beautiful for a few days when the leaves turn.  But we had not been able to get there on the right days the previous years.  This time we were going home.  We were all tired.  And we didn't have much time.  But I knew that if we didn't stop that day, we would miss it again for this year.  So we stopped and I told the girls to get out and run around.  I'd just take the pictures with my phone.  I think they turned out pretty well considering.  A few are even Christmas card possibilities.  :)
