We had a Thanksgiving party at our house on Saturday. We are just so thankful for our new house that we wanted to have a bunch of friends over to celebrate. The kids had a blast! We got out Lyla's bouncy house. Between that, the trampoline, and the playground, the kids jumped, ran, and climbed all evening. They did convince the grown-ups to walk down to the river to do a little exploring. Later we started up the fire and had a s'more feast.
The grown-ups had fun too. I was having such a good time I forgot to take many pictures. It was so nice to have friends over! I love parties!
It was super nice to have Aunt Gale here! Not only did we just miss her and enjoy her company, but it is really nice to have another adult around to help out! One of her many gifts of service to me was that I only washed dishes once all week! Thank you Gale!!

We planned a pretty nice table for Thanksgiving. We even had shrimp dip and other appetizers! We got our turkey from Baugher's so we knew at least the little guy had a somewhat normal life before Thanksgiving. We made way too much food and way too many desserts. That's ok though because who wants to cook after Thanksgiving?
Other than eating, we did a lot of vegging out and watching TV.
Lyla is working hard on Mario.
We were all super sad to see Gale go on Friday. The week went by too fast as it always does. But we kept ourselves busy by cutting down a tree! This cedar tree is the only one that was a major source of shade for the area where I want my garden to be in the Spring. I had hopes that the top of the tree would be suitable for a Christmas tree, but no such luck. We all worked at that tree for about 5 hours, but by dark all the limbs and logs were lugged away and cleaned up. We conquered the day! And all the girls had to pose with the chainsaw, which they thought was super cool.

Thanksgiving was sweet this year. It's always nice, but this year I just feel full to bursting with thankfulness! God is so good! And for reasons only He knows and above what we deserve, He has blessed us this year. So we are thankful. And I don't want to forget to be thankful later.
